 Re: Zibbit chess journal
Hmm awfully quiet on CV.tv the last few days ;-( Anyway since loss against Gustafsson I did ok. I only drew with black against WFM Emilia Horn (2031) but ok she played a good game and actually I was lucky to escape with a draw. She also drew FM Sigfusson so she is having a good tournament it seems to me. After that I played some really good games. I ground out FM Tomas Bjornsson(2158) but not that his rating is way too low, well lets just call it sandbagging Then in the 7th I won against another FM and this time with black in a Czech Benoni, bringing me to 3 out of 3 with that opening! Tomorrow I am playing against Italian Carlo D'Amore. I am black again and I need a good result. Without checking I believe I might have some chances for a norm if I beat him. But anyway 4,5 of 7 is good enough for now. I try and post the games from rounds 5-7 on my blog before I go to sleep

 Re: Zibbit chess journal
Yes, you do have chances for a norm if you win.
Good luck and have fun with the last 2 games anyway, norm or no norm.
Haven't had time to check up on all the games, but I will soon.

 Re: Zibbit chess journal
Hmm it's time for Icelandic Championship once again. First round was yesterday where I made a relatively short draw with black in the French Tarrasch. Ok start, getting on the scoreboard right away. Today I face the top seed, GM Hedinn Steingrimsson, former world U-14 World Champion. The game is live here in about 40 minutes: http://dl.skaksamband.is/mot/2011/Lands ... r2/tfd.htm

Hey Zibbit,
You've been awfully quiet for awhile. I hope everything is OK.

 Re: Zibbit chess journal
Tonight is last round of the Reykjavik City Championship (RCC). I've made one video so far but will probably make plenty in weeks to come. My chess enthusiasm is high right now. Playing another tournament as well and I am undefeated in 11 games so far this year and tonight I am playing for the title, I lead with one round to go but play against a very tough player.
The game will be live in exactly 5 hours after I make this post. Press the green link on the page where it says "Bein útsending / LIVE"
Before last round: 1. Me 7/8 2. IM Kjartansson 6.5/8 3-6. IM Thorfinnsson, IM Gretarsson, IM Thorfinnsson, Jensson 6/8
So at worst I get joint 2nd if I lose but draw will be enough for solo lead unless Kjartansson beats Gretarsson who is the top seed.
