Thanks as always Dennis. I like to play this defence, gave me some ideas to look out for.

Re: Dennis Monokroussos: Attacking Alekhine's Defense [35:44]
Great entertainment! I like the way you wrong-footed your 'Alekhine' opponents by taking them into a French-style game. Someone should write an openings book about that subject- simply taking opponents into openings they weren't prepared for (rather than trying to play the given opening in the objectively 'best' way). Seems a very practical way of picking up lots of points at any level...

Check out "Transpo Tricks in Chess" by Andrew Soltis. It's about that strategy. You can read my review of the book here.

Fantastic video... not only was this extremely entertaining, it was very instructive too. your comments on attacking ideas (mobilisation and coordination of pieces) and opening theory (the idea of Nc3 to keep B(c8) at bay) was magic, simply magic... I have always loved your videos but I cannot continue to watch your great videos further without dropping a comment or any appreciation to your work, so here it is finally; thank you so very much for all your videos dennis. Your work and dedication to chessvids is legendary... i now think they need a nobel prize for chess ^^

Re: Dennis Monokroussos: Attacking Alekhine's Defense [35:44]
I enjoy the videos, although this particular episode has more mistakes than usual. Black has several shots that Dennis didn't mention. In the 1st 2 games QxA2 instead of Qc7 and Nb4 when defending for ex. Just off the top of my head, but... In the final game, 10. o-o-o is just a blunder. True, after 10...Bf3 11.Bf3 Ne5 12. Bd5 ed5 13. Rhe1 f6 14. f4 g5 15. fe5 gh4 16. ef6+ Kf7 , White does have some compensation for the lost piece and this might be a tough position to hold in a speed game. If 17. Qf4 Rg8! intending Qg4 and attacking g2 at the same time. But, 12... Qxd5 is a fairly straight-forward refutation too. The piece on the Evans Gambit was excellent!

Re: Dennis Monokroussos: Attacking Alekhine's Defense [35:44]
I'd say thanks or you're welcome about the Evans Gambit lecture, but I don't recall doing one. (I hope that's not your point, and that you're referring to the Evans game in my Morozevich show.) The comment about ...Qxa2 rather than ...Qc7 seems a little funny - just off the top of your head, you say? Mine too, if Rybka is attached. Of course grabbing material is fine in the comfort of one's study, but with the king in the center, going off on such jaunts feels riskier. Anyway, the "top of my head" suggests White is still better there, though it provisionally agrees that it's better than Qc7. About Nb4/...Nb4, I'm not sure what that one refers to.
As to ...Qxd5 in the last game, you're completely right. Of course the point of that game was the shot at the end, and definitely not its theoretical value. As noted in the video, my move order in that game was pretty lousy and I was scrambling almost from the start. But I do appreciate the comment, because I had always taken for granted my thought during the game that I could swap queens, play Rhe1 and f4 to regain the piece. Upon actually looking at it (what an idea!), it's obvious that it fails to ...g5 at the end. (12...Qxd5 13.Qxd5 exd5 14.Rhe1 f6 15.f4 g5, to be specific.)
