Very nice win! It seemed you just played solid and keept a small advantage through out the whole game. Grinding it out for a win. Very nice and instructive. Also the pausing the video was a nice touch. This is one of those that I will have to watch again. For some reason these types of games are my favorite. Maybe not as exciting as a wild sharp game with tactics every where but some how I feel like I learn alot more with solid moves that just keep a small advantage and block your opponents plan. Very very nice!!! Also you did a real good job of avoiding the drawing lines at the end. Its very easy to relax and think im just winning....Only to find out you have to settle for a draw. Once again very nice!

wow what a masterpiece game against such a strong opponent and chess author!#$@# (Esben Lund wrote "Rook vs. 2 Minor Pieces" and also "Meeting 1d4" with Aagaard.)
this is one of the best videos on this CV.TV. However i think the sound is a bit quiet-- i had to put on headphones to hear.

Thanks e-body. Indeed this is a good win but maybe katar and freedom make it sound a little more elegant then it was. I wouldn't say I had a small edge throughout...true I was solid but I would say most of the middlegame is dynamically equal and I wasn't winning till he blundered on move 39. But very happy with this game and beating such a strong opponent.
Regarding the sound it's quite fine when I play this. Maybe your speakers on your computer aren't strong enough...with older laptops it could be a problem. Anyway I don't know how I could fix the volume but please if anybody else has this problem, let me know!

Heh, Im used to cheering on Curtains. Even still I would be very impressed with my self if it was my game. The sound seems fine to me but I always use my headphones.

Well played Ingvar! A very instructive game from start to finish. Ok no fireworks but the ending was excellent as a learning experience. I'm glad to say I saw the win at the end. I thought of squares. As you would Q first you had an extra move. You Q'ed on a8, a white square, while black Q'ed on c1, a dark square. As the black K was on h7, a light square, it was a sitting duck for Qe4+. His R was even on a dark square. Interesting that the calamity for black should happen on the light squares which appears thematic as you were going for play on these squares from the begining of the game. More please! A great win given that I know GM's around that grade.

I like the game, well played. Nothing too special and that's what's so amazing about it. Absolutely top-notch endgame technique, Rc5 is something to remember, also showing you should never stop calculating too early. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that you'll reach your goal and get that norm!

Bruce and RAU: Thanks for your nice comments. I especially like you pointing out Bruce how the light square thing was prevailent throughout the game. I exchanged my dark squared bishop for control of the light squares. In the middlegame I am playing for the light squares and sack a pawn for control of e4 and c4 squares. Then in the ending I promote on a light square and all his pieces are on dark squares and he can't defend against me on the light squares with only Q+R each!

 Re: Zibbit - W vs E.Lund(IM,2420), RCCInv08(02) [55:26]
A very good example of the dynamic interaction between square control and piece power. Despite the material being almost even. Black having almost parity after Q ing and only 1 pawn v 2 pawns it was almost as if black had no pieces left and white had a free hand to either mate or win decisive material.
