Nice game and video, Kingsblade! I always enjoy hearing your thought process during the games.

Good game, solid moves throughout and capitalised on his blunder.
Hope i don't get paired against you in the tournament!

:D Well played Mark although e3?? by your opponent dropping the B was a bit awful as he had loads of time. As already pointed out after you forced the K to e5 Bh6 was #. However the K didn't have to go to h5 after f6+ which allowed your R h2# but could have played Kxg6. The pawn was undefended and you would now be faced with RxB+. This would have been a bit annoying unless you had a crusher. Worth analysing tho.

Nope you were ok as if Kxg6 Rxg3 Kxh5 (forced) Rh2 is #.

I found the whole idea of the symmetrical opening really interesting. What I'd like to know, however, is what exactly determined your leaving the "mirroring" fase and starting to do your own thing at move 7??? H.G.

wp- I have been on a 7 week chess break.... 32...Bh6#!!! Doh, "when you see a good move look for a better one"! Nice one... Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

HG- I broke the symmetry when it was to my advantage (IMHO) by making room for my bishop to develop to b7 while leaving the d pawn options ... I wanted to oppose his g2 Bishop. I don't know if that makes good sense though ... thanks for asking!

Hi, could you tell me what software you are using? I like the interface, it looks very smooth. If it is some web based program what is the board pieces called etc? Thank you & nice game.

Hey, on move 19...Qg4 you aren't forking the bishop and pawn... his queen protects the E pawn.

*This Program is The ICC's Dasher Interface with the board settings adjusted.

*19. Qg4 was sort of a "scare tactic" in that I was bringing my Queen into the game. I never finished my thought (this happens a lot to me while anotating live games) when I said "he can't protect his bishop and his pawn, can he?" and I should have continued and said "without moving the bishop". I knew the pawn was protected by the Queen, I just expected him to move his bishop to a more passive position.

Thanks for the comments :)
