Some very nice games played and as always very well presented.

Hi,
Nice that your back. (I could have said it two videos ago, but I did not).
I always thought I recognized your voice and seeing the name Henrik Danielsen I got a recall.
He had a site called http://www.videochess.net where he played och gave instructions on Bird's opening (with Leningrad in advanced. He called it the polar bear).
YOU had your own place at that site called "Ingvar's Corner"!.

Thank you again and now I shall re-watch those videos.

Jakob

Yea, indeed..I remember.
What is he doing atm ? Why isn't he posting videos here :P ?
Especially my wife is missing his videos very much. She has no interest in chess (she did manage to answer the "Who goes first ?"-question correctly though) but she really enjoyed his voice. I always had to turn up the volume when I watched his vids, because she instantly fell asleep when hearing him talk. I am quite aware that this sounds like a dubious compliment, but it is meant as one. He has such a calming and warm voice.
"Roaaar"....Polar bear is hungry !
One of my friends started to play 1.f4 due to his site, btw. There can't be a better opening prep than having 100 commented GM games at hand :)
---
I just have to thank you again for doing that analysis for us. I mean, even if you went through them anyway, making a video for us still requires time and effort. So thank you for your generosity :)

LOL: "Rcb2 and it's just curtains."

I'm loving these videos. I would have responded sooner, but I had dental surgery and I have not had a clear enough mind to play/examine chess. This is the second time I've watched this video, and I think I'll watch it again tomorrow. This 43 minute lecture is DVD worthy so I expect I will be coming back to it at least a few times.

The last game was exciting. If I had examined it myself I don't think I would have seen those pawn breaks that were so important and I would not have grasped the positions as well. The Queen's Gambit game was very interesting, especially because of the counter bishop sac. In the other game, that h6 move was so subtle but so powerful.

Normally I remember all the games you analyse very well, but my memory sucks at the moment. Pain medication is ruining my ability to watch and comment on your excellent videos. I would have been first!

I'll edit this post tomorrow or sometime soon so I can more properly thank you and comment which games I'm talking about above because I'm not doing this video any service with this post..

Until then, X to the Z!

Posting again re: the Bxh7 sac in the last game. After Bxh7 sac black's Qd3 resource that you pointed out is very often overlooked. Like in this viking game when black should have played 13...Kg8 and if 14.Qh5 then ...Qd3.

[Event "Wch U20 qual-A"]
[Site "Copenhagen"]
[Date "1953.??.??"]
[Round "3"]
[White "Olafsson, Fridrik"]
[Black "Mellberg, B"]
[Result "1-0"]
[ECO "E41"]
[EventDate "1953.??.??"]

1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.e3 c5 5.Bd3 O-O 6.Nf3 d6 7.O-O Bxc3 8.bxc3
Nc6 9.e4 Ne8 10.e5 dxe5 11.dxe5 b6 12.Bxh7+ Kxh7 13.Ng5+ Kg6 14.Qg4 f5 15.
Qg3 f4 16.Bxf4 Rxf4 17.Nxe6+ Kf5 18.Nxd8 Nxd8 19.Qd3+ 1-0

The 2nd and 3rd games you showed were exciting b/c one side looked worse the whole game then ended up winning.
