This came up in a game of mine a while back. I didn't find the best move at the time, but I won nonetheless, because my opponent blundered and allowed me to mate him.
It's White to move. What is white's best move and what is black's best response?

Re: Mac's Move
I think that white's best move is Qd2 threatening to go to h6 with the strong threat of checkmate. I think that black's best response is to play...I dont see any good replies for black, LOL

Re: Mac's Move
Yeah, after 1. Qd2 there doesn't seem to be any way to stop mate in three except by 1... Qxe5 which loses a queen for a bishop and with it the game.
