OMG Greg, Awesome coverage. Your insane enthusiasm for the players even tho you didn't really care who won was neat as hell. I liked how you picked players you wanted to win, you had me pulling for those players also.

Your whole coverage of the tourney was neat as hell and definitely something I look forward to watching you do in the future...hopefully. I understand it takes up a lot of your time and I just want to say thank you for bringing us that coverage, otherwise I would never have seen those players play, and would have missed some good chess as a result (same goes for the womens tourney).

OMG 101 minutes! Guess I won't have time for any blitz on ICC tonight!

The way you create rooting interest for the players is what makes these videos so good. Please keep doing that. JOBAVA! JOBAVA! JOBAVA!

Checkmate!

Anyway, it was fun going over these rapid games too. Your analysis was spot on, as usual. Thanks!

Spot on might be a bit of an overstatement as I felt I was drastically wrong on many occasions, but I'm happy you liked it :)

I have to say I did not really like this video much. You just clicked through most of the games.
I had an improvement on some line but could not find it again after the video. Also I like the penalty kicks. And how was the top gm an asshole to your sister?

Hahaha, that ending is priceless.

The tactics in the second half of the video were bad ass.

As far a Jobava goes, my opinion is that his frequent total self destruction/collapses must be a question of nerves or psychology. There's no reason he should find himself in those positions.

Geez, that ending... wow.

Thanks for posting.

This is probably not the classiest thing to ponder but I can't help it. If I found myself in that situation, would I prefer to be the champion of Europe and have to explain to everyone that I only won because my opponent hung his rook? Or would I prefer to say I got 2nd place and lost only because I hung my rook in a mating sequence?

I would prefer to be the champion, but there is definitely a cool edge and plenty of bragging rights for 2nd place.

Wow. Just finished the whole video. That was exciting. So many chokes packed in to 100 minutes. Best video yet.

Guseinov's rating is 2661, they got that wrong. I'm with you on Topalov losing  .

I'm a bit disappointed Naiditsch didn't make it after he had 2 good positions in the 15 min games, but Armaggedon is just random anyway. Tomashevsky winning the whole thing really surprised me.

Malakhov is a nice guy but might come across as shy or boring. His style is definately += and the guy is basically an endgame machine. During a tournament in Iceland, Ivan Sokolov called him "a damn KGB robot.

Malakhov is obviously very strong but hasn't played as much as he perhaps could as he is studying to be a doctor.

Omg. Best show so far. (Though I feel like saying that every show.)

Too much to comment on, but this I can't let go:

Radjabov an asshole? Are you out of your mind. Which internet troll did feed you that "information".

(Or maybe it was that interview where he talked about the war between his country and some other country and some internet douchebags took it totally out of context trying to argue that he hates chess players from that other country or some such bullshit.)

Maybe it was the incident where Ivanchuk knocked over his pieces and Radja pushed his clock back and Chuky flagged. Then Radja got treated the same way by Smeets and complained.
