More positions

File comment: In all of these examples it is the elimination of a powerful defender, the bishop. In this example white's bishop is very strong and without its counter part black's king would feel very compromised. The relative worth of the bishop easily outweighs a rook and therefore 1.Rd6! This I did not consider.

File comment: Again this one I found the first move 1.Rxd4 cxd 2.Qe5 f6 3.Qe6+ Kh8 4.Qf7 Rg8 and here I was not able to find any other convincing moves as candidates. Again, it boils down to imagination. I should attempt to see the queen on f6 mating the black king, thereby I would probably have seen that I need to take away the the defender of f6 with Rad1.

File comment: This is in fact quite easy and I found the first move fast. 1.Rxc5 bxc5 2.Nxc5 Rb8 in this position white is down two pawns + the exchange so he needs to win more than a piece. So the first move was easy but now you have to find the rest of the continuation, in a practical game that would be quite difficult when you consider that you are so much material down. If 3.Nxb7 then 3...Nxd4 4.Qa4+ Rf8 and I don't see anything for white. However, generally I feel I have difficulties seeing all variations in this position. Therefore I think it would be a good thing to find some way of practising my calculation abilities.

maybe you should just reply to your original topic, rather than create a bunch of new topics. That way you will have one consolidated training journal. Otherwise it is just confusing having a bunch of topics in the training journal forum without any specifically obvious timeline.
