At 5:08

Black can't castle 0-0 as long as the knight is on g5. If he tried to kick your knight off with h6, you'd reply Nxf7! and Black's position is basically lost.

Also, I think Bd3 works? At least in theory, you'd threaten him with a discovery check in the event he captured d4.

I'm glad you won and f4 was a nice way to win it! Also liked your mid-game tactic.

About your first 2 minutes of the video and your closing- I agree completely. I spent some time tonight working on a Steinitz game, basically learning why White doesn't push an early c5 in the Queen's Gambit. I won't go off on that rant.

Anyway, enjoyed the video. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, it was quite interesting. I feel like the tactical combination Ng6 has a sort of comedy value :)
What I mean is that Black has avoided castling but traded down to an ending where, usually, it's actually an advantage to not castle and just drop the king onto e7 or something. Then at the last minute you exploit the king with a pin on the e-file!

About the Ng5 lines which you seemed unsure about - I think you'll find that in a number of lines, knight sacs on f7 and e6 are very dangerous. More so than usual because the queen is on d6, and that means that variations like Nf7 Kf7 Rxe6 both attack the queen and threaten a discovered check with the rook. Just a thought, not anything in detail. And now of course I've just remembered you looked at a line exactly like that a few moves later :)

15:05 he cant play e5-e4 because your rook pins that pawn to the king
