Hey augelmo, you should be very proud of this game. Congratulations on passing 2300 and very well done finding ways to keep the important knight on the board and ways to keep the game complicated.

Yeah! Chessbase :) I also suggest instead of recording the whole screen you could record only the chess board. This way the chessboard in the video would be bigger and on the plus side you could hide the program popup windows outside the recorded area so only the chessboard would be seen in the video

Very nicely presented. Congrats on your killer 5-0!

A dramatic conclusion, worthy of the occasion!

I enjoyed watching all 5 videos. You played many great moves, h2-h4 was very deep in a previous game... but i have to say my favorite was the king-leap Kh1-f2!!!. :)

Congrats on your first place win, and perfect score! I found it very instructive how you managed to complicate this game in a losing position, indeed I could see no easy way for your opponent to convert his advantage most of the time. That is a very important skill to have in chess. Every game you played was well played and instructive, especially in the endgame. You fought hard and definitely deserved first place.

After a grueling game (with a few inaccuracies), our hero -- "Augelmo" (Frank Johnson) -- (1) defeated an opponent who was rated over 200 points higher, (2) finally achieved a rating of over 2300, (3) won all of his other games, and thus (4) won the tournament.

Well done, sir. You earned it. Sincere congratulations.

Yes! Thanks for the videos. They are very interesting and very instructive. I definitely have learnt some important things from them. Congrats on the victory. You played a real fighting game and had a few nice grinds in the earlier rounds if I recall correctly.

Btw, how did the invitational go?

I know you're probably pretty busy. But I look forward to the occasional future video. Your live commentaries are very good also, but these game analysis videos are so much more instructive.
