Nice demonstration of using the dark square complex in an attack. I don't understand why White missed Bh6 (when he played h4), it seemed natural to me. I guess you're right, he needed to spot the retort to Black's queen retreat to d8 to defend - but that seemed fairly obvious as well. You've got to keep your "A" game on at all times. In the last position shown I might even prefer to play Black.

I love crisp attacks, thanks for sharing that game.

I am new so forgive me if this is the 100th time this has come up. Is it possible to not have the "play" arrow in the center of board diagram when we stop the video to consider the position? I am really enjoying your videos. You're the reason I subscribed.

Hmm, that sounds like a very good question, deadwood53! However, as all I do is record my videos, I have no idea about the technical aspect of the interface. If no one else has a quick answer for you, you might want to send Josh Specht (the first poster here) with that question in a PM.

Loved this game, glad you found it! As always the work and preparation you put into these lectures is apparent and much appreciated.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but at 6:27, I believe black gets mated as opposed to simply losing his queen.

Yep, that might be true, but it is simply enough when calculating to see that the queen is lost. If your opponent plays 1...gxf6, 2.Nxf6+ Kg7 you are in a better position to stop and look for a mate. Just seeing 3.Nxd7 is good enough.
