Probably should invest in the free Baba's Chess or a better client for it. Just seems cleaner. While the bishop taking the pawn back on b5 looks ugly and leaves your pawn vulnerable, isn't it pretty strong due to the possible revealed check? Maybe I'm just obsessed with that. Anyway, good game! Hope you do well sir.

The pawn on c6 really cramped Black, it's amazing how he has this huge centre but can't really coordinate.

Bloody hell, I didn't realise I'd spent so long over 10...Bd7, I was worried about b4 and b5. Maybe if I'd moved faster, he wouldn't have thought of the plan! I should have taken the c-pawn the move before though, I can't even remember why I didn't! I never saw that 15...axb5 16.axb5 Nc4 stuff. I had some sort of mental block about pinning the knight to my rook. 22...Ndb3 is obviously terrible, how could I miss Qxe5? Nab3 looks really good but even 22...Nxf3 23.Bxf3 d4 looks OK. 24.cxd4 Nb3 is fine for me I think.

Oh, I meant to say on the opening: 7.Nb5 is a main move after c5. 7...O-O loses to 8.Bxe7 Qxe7 and Nc7 winning an exchange, the main line is something like 7.Nb5 f6 8.Bd3 a6 (black gets destroyed if he takes the bishop apparently) 9.Qh5+ Kf8. It's completely crazy and I've no idea what's going on but I don't expect any of my opponents to play into that any time soon.
7.Bxe7 Kxe7 is what usually happens in my experience. Qxe7 runs into Nb5, it seems to get played with black sacrificing the a8 rook but I wouldn't fancy it!
I'd never seen dxc5 before but Nxe5 is usually the best response in other lines .

dxc5 certainly wasn't good. That's the problem with playing lines that have all sorts of theory associated with them. I don't know why I didn't look at Nb5. I'll do a video someday soon on the flashcard system of learning openings, but it's taking an incredible amount of time to make cards for my entire repertoire. So far I'm through all my Sicilian lines for both colors and most 1. e4 e5... so I still have all other responses to 1. e4 and then... d4 and c4 at least So far I'm over 1000 cards just for Sicilian and 1. e4 e5... I think I'm looking at ~4000 cards to cover my whole repertoire. No wonder it's hard to remember openings!

Frank, thanks for the video. I really enjoyed getting to listen to how a strong player thinks during a game.
You referenced the rain in Oregon - which is where I am from. I don't recall you ever saying you lived here, are you visiting? Have family / friends here? Ever play out here?

Re: augelmo - CVTV Trny Rd 1: W vs SchumiUCD [36:32]
I am interning in Salem for a year. I started last August and I'm here through this August. I haven't played much out here because I just don't have the time on weekends. I did play the Oregon Open and another tournament up in Portland, but I don't have any plans to play again until I get back to Minnesota in August. I do get together with some guys down here and play on a regular basis, but there is only one expert I know of down here so it's not like I get a lot of over-the-board opportunities.

A very interesting Game here!
It seemed like Schumi played very principled moves. Every move made perfect sense, while augelmo searched for the "truth" in the position and played against his opponent in a counter-attack style (duck and punch). As a mere mortal, everything seemed awkward to me, yet extremely effective and decisive. It was an instructional and enlightening game for me!
Good Game Gentlemen!
