like Bf4 sure... still think u were a little worse
you don't have to apologize for thinking we want you to think... so you can find good moves and win... we just don't want you to think too long and lose too much time it's a classic trade-off... seems like u play well when both players are under 2minutes so you can afford to take your time in the opening// early middlegame.
your videos are awesome!
i hope you keep making them till you make like 5000 i would watch everyone if i could

No thoughts on Magnus Carlsen showing the first signs of Fischeritis and refusing to participate in the World Championship cycle?

Remember that Curtains does these videos in advance and thus hadn't heard this news when he made this vid.

I'm not sure if you're asking me or curtains- I assume curtains because I'm pretty sure my opinion isn't worth much to anyone but me. Here's curtains' comment about it from another thread: viewtopic.php?p=57709#p57709As for me, after I read Carlsen's letter, I didn't blame him for dropping out either as FIDE is just messed up between being disorganized and corrupt. It will be interesting to see how the next world championship shapes up. One thing is for sure, whomever becomes next world champion will have the legitimacy of his crown under a cloud if Carlsen hasn't been part of the selection process.

Nice comeback, it seems like the hardest thing to do in chess is to take a clearly better position and win it against a higher rated player, and this game is proof of that.

I was asking you, kamus. Ah, so everyone seems to agree that FIDE is messed up and Carlsen is justified? It seems strange to me though, at least as far as I'm aware, there was no publicized history of disgruntled-ness or anger between Carlsen and FIDE, and he just outright quits instead of writing a letter asking for changes or saying that he's thinking about quitting. It strikes me as Fischer-esque...which is especially interesting to me given that Carlsen already told TIME Magazine that he didn't plan on going crazy as Fischer did. The most interesting thing about this to me, though, is that Carlsen is passing up the chance to be the youngest World Champion ever. I mean, assuming, they were having matches every 2 years as they were, and the match happened in the middle of the year, he could beat Kasparov's record if he were to participate in the nexxt cycle and win the title in mid-2012. If that's the case and there's not some change in the schedule that I missed, that seems the most Fischerish of all.

Maybe he's hoping they'll just cave. After all he is widely regarded to be World Champ material and with his age, he has generated a lot of excitement- excitement that FIDE badly needs so they must be freaking out about now.

It's not so totally out of the blue at it may seem; see this article: http://www.chessintranslation.com/2010/ ... ospective/My opinion: unless he is going to start a new organization then sooner or later he is going to have to play the FIDE world championship. If he is going to wait till everything is exactly like he wants it, he is never going to play. So I think the whole thing is a bit weird.

I see, fascinating information. I'll be very interested to see how Magnus's personality develops over the coming years. I think it'll be a great indicator of his brain-type. I think Kasparov feuded with FIDE because he just could see how sloppy everything was...Fischer feuded with FIDE because of the peculiarities of his mental hardware. Most likely, Magnus may start complaining about all manner of things and exhibiting other anti-social-type behavior. I suspect he's got more of a Fischer/Capablanca-level brain whereas someone like Nakamura is more like Kasparov.
