Hmmm... looks like I've got some work to do - thanks Zibbit! ;)
Seriously though, an excellent and really useful video.

In the 5.f3 line, you were remembering a game where Black plays ...h5 and White refutes the queen sac somehow. I wondered if these games are relevant: (I've hidden them just to keep this post tidy)

Also, in relation to the Nakamura 13. Be3 zwischenzug, I found this game in Fritz12's database, and wondered if it might be the 'source' of the idea. Unfortunately for White, he followed up with 14. 0-0-0 instead of 14. a3 and came a cropper:

Eimaj, your wisdom and input is needed at the "mother thread" to this one: viewtopic.php?t=8102

Indom and Wisput, more like. Actually, sounds like a firm of stockbrokers. No? Oh, forget it. ( )

Yes katar and thanks, I will spend time to try and learn/contribute - it's about time I did some proper opening study.

My pet line is 4.Qc2. I posted a small explanation in the thread.

Yes, those are the games. Especially the Qe4 line seems to just win easily for white.

wanted to Thank Zibbit again for this video.

i have further investigated this 5.f3 line ("Dlugy Attack") and adopted it permanently. i can't imagine playing anything else against Benko, now. ;)

Thanks!

I think it's very interesting. I used it after making this video in a tournament game myself with a great result, I prepared almost to a winning game and had a huge time edge.

Also Ilya Nyzhnyk (might be spelled differently) has some games in it or instance against Siebrecht and now think two players have used it against my friend R. Lagerman and he got beat both times I think.

I think it's an underrated line and I've been meaning to write about it and recommend it to my Icelandic colleagues.

Yeah! Using Stockfish i have refuted some of Pinski's analysis in his Benko book from 2005. Any patzer with a newish computer (mine is new) can find many strong novelties in this line. There is much scope for new ideas.

Just wanted to mention that Everyman is giving away the full chapter on the 5.f3 Benko in the new book by Pedersen. FYI it is from Black's perspective, but might have some tips for White. Also it's always nice to know what the Benko players are being recommended to do!

Go here and download the PDF sample pages.
