Re: Zibbit - Lessons #1: Endings, Biel and WTC <2> [26:43]
Pretty basic stuff, 3 games fragments.
#1 Has some stuff on transition to pawn endings from queen endings, very basic opposition type endings. #2 Is about the rooks on the 7th #3 Is about king safety
I think the lesson should be relevant up to about 2000 rating for higher it's probably a refresher course mostly.

Indeed this is a nice refresher on King and Pawn endings with an emphasis on opposition. For those who may be wondering, this is a solid & worthwhile video for only 2 credits. The more you pause the video to think and verify things for yourself, the more benefit you'll get out of it. #3 in particular is a challenging strategical exercise (played by Shirov) that is by no means obvious, although it is quite easier if u read Zibbit's "clue" in his post above.

Nice examples well presented - I especially loved the Shirov manoeuvre. Also the subtleties of the opposition always fill me with awe about the game.

Thanks for the video Zibbit! I especially liked your overview of the tricky king and pawn ending, with you going over every possible king move. I'm exciting for lesson #2!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Zibbit, trying to learn as much as I can, by playing on my Kindle Fire Review. Can almost beat the computer, hehe
