Forgot to mention the main point of Bc4....if g5 immediately then Re1+ and Rf1+ so Bc4 covers the checking and is therefore important.
Also I had two brainfarts but I correct them fairly quickly.

Thanks for the two free rating points, i'm off to the bank!

You really did cover all the possibilities, halfway into it I was thinking "but what if Black (or whoever has the three Pawns) can play h4, locking down the g Pawn?" but of course this was covered. I enjoyed Kosteniuk Tragicomedy, that sort of thing cements things in my mind, plus it is just as valuable to know how to play on the inferior side! I can only guess her opponent lost on time  .

this ending is more complicated than I had imagined... excellent explanation I appreciate this and will probably need to apply this analysis at some point in my games... hopefully I will be able to remember the key ideas

heyas!

Nice video! Unfortunatelly, endgames are neglected for most of us! And... what's the point to study opennings, to get a clear edge in the midlegame...and....to fail to get the point after 3 hours of battle? So, thats why we should give more time and attention to endgames!
Peace and health!

I thought the same thing about the h-pawn so I checked it. The important lesson is black (or the defending side) can't give up control of the squares of the color of the bishop.

Also Fressinet probably lost because of time trouble, it was 230+ moves and was a rapid game. He lost on the board though but still, earlier he seemed to defend easily.

Great video! I never thought such a seemingly simple endgame can have so many possibilities. In the last game, when you were analyzing Rf4 for black trading rooks, Black could've drawn easier by just taking the g2 pawn when the bishop moved to d7.

I am sure you are right but I haven't found which position you are talking about. Please leave a timestamp in the video if there is something I want t answer. Thanks again.

Just re-watched that and was actually pretty good! One of my best vids. I did though miss some obvious things although somewhat unimportant, like Kxg2 and Rc8+ with Bf5+ which I needed to turn on comp to see.
