 I was wet-nursed on Tal's games and I recommend looking at his games closely to anyone who wants to get better at tactics. Thanks for bringing us this game, it is but one example in a plethora of exciting Tal games. Rather annoyingly though, my instincts seem to be better than my calculation. I was a pretty good player back then, too (assuming I'm a pretty good player now); as you may recall from a few weeks ago I drew with Walter Browne that year in a regular tournament game. Against Tal, however, I was crushed like a bug.

I use to play the 150 attack against the pirc - easy to play, solid and dangerous - but this austrian attack looks more convinving - no wonder, that it was favoured by Bobby Fischer - I will definitely try it next time  |
