Post Re: ***** Tourney VI Games *****
eimaj vs kamus

I played a rather suspect opening which seemed to throw my opponent off a bit leading to a time advantage for me. According to Hiarcs I played a dodgy move (5...e5?!) but he didn't find the refutation (which actually is a bit difficult to find) Eimaj played then a nice move (19.Nc5!) which I had completely overlooked but then he missed a chance to win my a-pawn [edit- apparently "winning" that pawn would have been a mistake] He then made a few further inaccuracies that cost him material and I was somehow able to stumble my way to the win

After jailing his own bishop and Kh8 sidestepping the trick, Ne6 looks like the only move.

move 19.Rxf6 wins immediately, if 19...gxf6, 20.Qg4+ followed by Bf8 is destruction to black's side.
However, i missed it, and apparently that was the only chance i had in this whole game :D

Well,
I think you could have already played 18Rxf6. It also wins, even though it's more complicated than 19Rxf6. So, you had even two chances... :D
Maybe Detroitman should have played 15...g6, 15...Ne4 or 15...Nxh5 16Qxh5 g6.
Chesser, you should try to play the opening without a4, if would want to play your Knight to g3, then 8Ne2 is better, maybe after Qc7 9c4 could be useful.
Black's logical plan is to play e5, which you cannot prevent with your setup. You spent two tempi with a4 and Ba3 (and later a third one with c3) on the queenside and so your kingside attack never really started, except the Rxf6 idea, which black could have avoided.
