thanks josh i really wanted to share something i knew and this just came to me so i thought it would be great to post here, i might even put it on youtube.
i hope there's a few people who didn't know this and now do know about it.

It's important to mention that this tactic will only work if black's three pawns are on the 6th or 7th rank. Any further down the board and black will queen first. The same obviously applies for black, white's three pawns would have to be on the 2nd or 3rd rank for it to work.

This is very good to know, I had it come up in my game today...there was a lot more to it then this, but this was the basis.
