One of da best! This series gets better and better. Your enthusiasm and respect for Lasker really enhanced this video.

I have heard that young Mikhail Tal was quoted as saying that Lasker was the greatest champion of all.

EDIT:

The greatest of the champions was, of course, Emanuel Lasker. At the chess board he accomplished the impossible!

This was great!- haven't really studied Lasker but this inspired me to look at them. I didn't see much evidence of his supposed "coffeehouse" style- seemed to be pretty solid in most of these games. Looking forward to Hastings 1895!

btw my apologies for no blitz video for a while. I'm just completely engrossed in looking at both Carlsen's and Aronian's games and it's taking a monstrous amount of time. I am so into it though that I cannot justify playing blitz instead....I need to use all my free time looking at those games for now.

However if you know any results please do not share them here. Thank you!!!! Once this tournament is over I'm sure I'll be back on a regular schedule, it's just hard to keep up since I spend like 2 hours per game, and there are 2 games I need to look at each day or so.

Game 11 was absolutely beautiful in my opinion, and one of my all time favorites.

Doing tournaments from days of yore as well? Really? Did you get yourself cloned?

Well, clone Greg, looking forward to all you can put out. These are tremendous historical games you are going to cover and I am looking forward to them all!

Lasker was so deadly accurate, so many little tactics under the surface. Like at 39:29 there is the cute variation 24...Rxc1 25.Rxc1 Re8 26.dxe6 Bxe6 27.Rc8!!!!
