 no "New Topic" button
I've noticed that in some forums, there is no "New Topic" button. Is there a reason for this?

Which forums? Some forums like " Hanging out with the Masters" are closed to non-masters i.e- is that what you mean? I can't really check it for myself because as a moderator, everything is open to me.

I have done some additional experimentation. With the Endgame Lessons forum, I see a New Topic button when I'm not logged in, but if I log in, the New Topic button goes away. I would guess that this is a bug in the PHP code.

It's a video subforum so you'll have to post a video via the uploader to get a thread made.

If you want to discuss endgames on a text basis, you could open a topic in 'Chess Game Replays and Analysis' or 'Chess Puzzles'.
