Glad you like them! I'm planning to make videos on the Vancura and Saavedra positions (they're interesting/instructive rook endings). If you have any suggestions about video topics, let me know.

Thanks for the suggestions Carlin :) My next endgame video is going to by Bishop + Knight vs. a lone king and then I'll work on some other endgame videos.

I thought your explanation of this end game was very clear and succinct. All too often I see videos where the narrator hems and haws and tries to figure out the position on the fly instead of having a clear and decisive thought-flow of the problem at hand. Your videos are clear and straightforward which is why I like them so much. Thanks for posting this! :)

I really like these endgame videos, perhaps because I in generel enjoy endgames the most. We need more than just 7 in this forum, though!!

I agree. I'm starting to appreciate end games much more than I did in the past and would like to see more videos. :)

Sorry about that. It had some problems after the upgrade. Should be working fine now.

You can try playing the philidor position against our endgame simulator.

Good, but there is an alternate method for knight or rook pawns.

What type of dvd player would work best for a tv that is already a widescreen? I am looking to buy a dvd player for my parents and they purchase d a wide screen tv so when you play dvds or watch tv it tends to stretch out the picture. Is there a dvd player that takes this into account or does it matter?
