Played again. I think I'll try to play every Thursday as long as I can.

Lost the first round to a player rated 1935. I need to come up with sicilian stuff, I'm a baddie.

Won the 2nd round game in what was a very very wild game that featured several piece sacs (from me) and an exchange sac. My opponent was rated 1981 going into the event.

Won my 3rd round game against an 1806 rated player. I've played him a ton. He played the sicilian as well as my first opponent. I played the Smith-Mora but he declined the pawn. (I'm sort of glad because I would have no idea what to do tbh). Anyway, he played some h6, g5 e5 stuff and never castled. He "sacrificed" a rook and lost shortly.

My last round game was against a player rated 1930. I played the Portuguese gambit and I think unsoundly sacrificed a knight in the middle game. The position was really dangerous so white gave the piece back and we ended up in an ending which I was soundly better. 2 rooks + bishop vs 2 rooks + knight but I was up a big passed pawn. The game ended in like 8 more moves once the queens came off the board and I won quite easily.

So 3 wins and 1 loss after my 4 wins 0 loss showing last week. Rating should go up again to around 1978ish. Maybe if I can figure out the pgn viewer thing I'll show some of the games.

3/4 was good enough for the Under 2000 Prize. a whopping $16!!! weeeee

One more good round and you won't qualify for the u2000 prize anymore :)

e: pgn viewer is pretty simple. drop the pgn in and it gives you code to paste into your post.
