In this week's lesson, Dennis examines
two theoretical lines and the King and pawn endings to which they lead. Both endings are winning for the stronger side, but Dennis suggests that the loser had a much better alternative in avoiding the endgame. He covers a line of the Two Knights Defense as well as a Dragon Sicilian. Instructors often encourage thinking about openings in terms of the middlegame pawn structures they produce, but Dennis suggests you should also consider endgame possibilities.
