We're looking back at a really busy week this time with lots of great threads and videos. As always, for feedback and recommendations
go to the forum!
The most important chess news last week was probably the saddest too: the death of ex world champion
Vasily Smyslov and of course we had a thread about this event. Another important thread is the
puzzle of the day. This is your opportunity to suggest puzzles and not only get your name mentioned in the puzzle, but also to earn yourself a user title if two or more of your puzzles are accepted. Most importantly of course, you're helping Josh! :-)
A really interesting discussion about the Sicilian and various ways to avoid the mainlines developed in the
Post a system against the Sicilian thread. One last big event happened this week: the match between Admin and Wildman
took place. It involved Knight Odds and various shady maneuvers after Admin had taken Wildman's user title hostage a short while ago. All in good fun of course!
On to the video side of the forum. This week we were able to see
the continuation of katar's SCID series as well as peter91's analysis of
Stein / Yanofsky, next to the premiere of a new master contributor with
IM Renier Castellanos's first video. Chess Aquarium had a very interesting
video about the thought process of chess players. If you're interested how a fellow cvtv member did in the test position given in Chess Aquarium's video, have a look at
Jwhis short video.
That's it for this week, keep the videos coming!
